CPC Welcomes Summer Youth Employment Program Participants

Over the summer, CPC placed and hosted Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) participants at various sites across the city, providing over 4,673 youth with real-world work experience and essential skills such as problem-solving and teamwork. For example, at CPC’s Nan Shan Older Adult Center, SYEP participants helped older adults strengthen their digital literacy and developed a user-friendly technology guide with step-by-step instructions that community members could reference year-round.

CPC Leaders Share Chinatown’s Untold Stories in Prism NYC Series

CPC was featured in Prism NYC's "History of NYC's Chinatown" series on NYC Media to discuss Chinatown's history and growth. President and CEO Wayne Ho discussed post-1965 immigration and challenged misconceptions like the model minority myth. Director of Queens Community Services Mitch Wu explored immigrant waves from Fuzhou who sought opportunity in Chinatown. CPC Hosts Summer Social to Celebrate Staff and Connect Teams

On August 11th, CPC hosted our annual Summer Social, a tradition that recognizes the hard work and dedication of our staff and celebrates the collective achievements we have made in the communities we serve. Colleagues across CPC sites in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens came together at CPC One for a day of delicious food and fun team-building activities. The event provided a welcoming space for staff to reconnect with familiar faces, strengthen team bonds, and welcome new colleagues.

CPC Brings Summer Fun to Senior Housing Residents

On August 6th, CPC hosted a Summer Carnival at CPC One for residents of Norfolk Senior Housing and Hong Ning Housing to promote social connection and overall well-being. This community-centered event gave older adults a chance to get out, have fun, and connect with neighbors while staying close to home. Residents were able to relax, connect, and spend time together. Activities included coloring and Connect 4 games, along with made-to-order food that everyone enjoyed.

Schneps Media’s Bronx Power List Honors Kim To for Nonprofit Leadership

Kim To, CPC's Chief Development Officer and Deputy Director of Mekong NYC, has been named to Schneps Media's 2026 Bronx Power List. The recognition honors Kim's more than two decades of nonprofit leadership, including her work strengthening organizations and advancing the Asian American and Pacific Islander community through strategic fundraising, development, and executive leadership.

Edgar Pereira Named Among City & State’s 2026 Social Services Honorees

Edgar Pereira, CPC's Chief Program Officer, has been recognized as one of City & State NY's 2026 Above & Beyond: Social Services honorees for his three decades of community service. Pereira began his CPC career over 30 years ago as a teacher's aide and cook at one of CPC’s childcare centers, rising to oversee strategy, operations, and quality assurance across more than 50 programs.
