I wanted a medium-sized city but with still with a lot to do. What drew you to our PM&R program?
I was drawn to the PM&R program here because as a med student I did several rotations, and it felt like a tight-knit program with kind and passionate faculty. Professional interests: Spasticity, pain, and sports medicine.
Where are you from? Where have you trained so far?
I'm originally from Plymouth, MN - a suburb of Minneapolis. I went to undergrad at UW-Madison where I studied Biology and Global Health. I did medical school here at MCW. My intern year was at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. What are your hobbies?
I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible doing things like camping, hiking, biking, and gardening. I love playing and watching all sports (Go Badgers). I like exploring new restaurants and breweries. When I'm indoors I love playing board games (Catan, cribbage) and video games. What drew you to Milwaukee?
I fell in love with MKE during my time in medical school. I was very excited to extend my time here! What drew you to our PM&R program?
There are many things that drew me to the field of PM&R (notably Dr. White and the Spinecare team on my first rotation!). But one of the things I appreciate most about the field is the multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. Professional interests: Sports medicine.
Where are you from? Where have you trained so far?
I was born in South Korea and moved to sunny California when I was 10. I have never lived outside of California since then. I did my intern year at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, CA. What are your hobbies?
Outside of PM&R, I enjoy spending time with my wife and my toddler. We like to check out different restaurants, breweries, and wineries. At home, we love playing our Nintendo Switch games. We also enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, but that has been bit of a challenge with a toddler. What drew you to our PM&R program?
When I came to MCW for the interview, the faculty involvement was evident. They all really wanted the residents to thrive in individual's career goals. I am also interested in research, and MCW was one of the few programs with a research track. Professional interests:
I am currently evenly split between brain injury and spine/pain for fellowship. So TBD!
