Project Funding Vote OPENS Today

Vote for your favourite conservation projects NOW!

Dear Friends

Our Project Funding Vote starts today (Friday 15 October).  We had a tremendous response to our call for applications.  With the invaluable help of our Scientific Advisers team we have selected a shortlist of 17 very worthwhile projects.  Tell your friends, family, customers, colleagues and everyone you know to vote for their favourite project in each of the three categories: Forest, Water, Wild Places!  Make a difference in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss and vote now!

On 26 November, we are holding our next online conservation fundraiser - Green Friday. With the urgent need for action on a global scale to help mitigate biodiversity loss and the climate emergency, we are extremely keen to make our online fundraisers as successful as possible to enable the funding of many more projects.

Governments around the world are currently trying to agree a new set of goals to address the deterioration of nature and biodiversity at COP15, which is taking place in China.  From 31 October, world leaders will again meet at COP26 to commit to urgent global climate action.  Read more below about why EOCA has partnered with Business for Nature, and hundreds of other businesses, to address biodiversity loss and climate change.

Also in the newsletter are updates on the progress made by seven of our previously funded projects.  A few have been successfully completed, while others have made a great start.

We may be coming towards the end of another year, but we still have much more planned.  We will keep you updated via our newsletter or follow us on social media (links at the bottom of the newsletter).

Thanks from all the team at EOCA and don’t forget to vote for your favourite conservation project!

Tanya, Catherine, Cat and Sharon.

Voting is now OPEN!

The Project Funding Vote starts today!  You can help choose the next projects that EOCA will support.  The 17 projects, in three categories: Water, Forest, Wild Places, all address loss of biodiversity and climate change, focussing on conservation, protection and reconnection of habitats.

Full project details and voting can be found here.  Please share the link below and encourage everyone you know to get involved in conservation, choose their favourite projects and vote!

COP15 and COP26 -  Addressing biodiversity loss and climate change

The race is on for a nature positive world!  The two intricately linked issues of biodiversity loss and climate change are key threats facing the world today.

The UN Biodiversity Conference, COP15, currently being held in China, and COP26, starting on 31 October in Glasgow (UK), will bring together world leaders to commit to urgent global climate action to address the deterioration of nature and biodiversity.

These conferences highlight the urgency and relevance of EOCAs work and we thank all of our members for enabling us to continue to fund vital conservation work around the world.

EOCA is proud to be a partner of Business for Nature, joining more than 1,000 businesses calling for ambitious and collective action for nature.  Business for Nature’s Call to Action is asking governments to adopt policies now to reverse nature loss in this decade.
