Covenant's 50th Year on Lookout Mountain

U.S. News Ranks Covenant #6 in South

U.S. News & World Report ranked Covenant #6 in the South among regional colleges and #10 for best value in the South in its 2015 edition of Best Colleges. Covenant holds the highest freshman retention rate in its category. “Although the criteria U.S. News uses to rank colleges are important to us, there are things even more important to us—primarily missional faithfulness,” says Dr. Jeff Hall, vice president for academic affairs. “We are pleased with the ranking, but also know that our identity is found elsewhere.”
 



Cross Country & Soccer USA South Champions

The Scots enjoy continued success in the USA South. The men’s cross country team won the USA South championship for the second year in a row and will enter regional competition this weekend. Men’s soccer also clinched the USA South title and will begin regional competition this Friday.
 



Neal Conference

Bishop Henry Luke Orombi was guest speaker and Andrew Peterson was guest musician at this year’s Neal Conference on True Spirituality. Listen to Bishop Orombi’s chapel lectures here.
 



Homecoming

More than 300 alumni returned to the mountain October 3-4 to reunite and celebrate the fifty-year anniversary of Covenant’s campus. Dr. Jack Muller ’64 spoke in chapel, and J. Render ’69 & Linda Caines ’69 were presented with the Alumni of the Year award. See how the weekend was captured on Instagram, Twitter, SoundCloud and YouTube.

New Book by Prof. Madueme

Prof. Hans Madueme (theological studies) has co-edited Adam, the Fall, and Original Sin, published this month by Baker Academic. Following in the wake of controversies over the necessity of an historical Adam, this book provides scholarly and pastoral dialogue on the historicity of Adam and Eve and the doctrines of the Fall and original sin.
