Time for the protectors of the Reef to do their job

Hey,

I need your urgent help!

There is one last powerful group who can stop the dumping in the Reef - the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (also known as GBRMPA).

They can override the Environment Minister’s decision to dump on the Reef even though he received evidence against this from scientists, the tourism industry and people like you.

We need you to tell them to their job - “to provide long term protection and conservation of the Great Barrier Reef Region.”

There is still hope to stop this damage.

Dumping in the Reef’s waters will only go ahead if GBRMPA issue a special dumping permit to do so.

That’s right – if the members of this board reject the permit, then the Reef’s waters can’t be used as a dump.

Call the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority today – tell them to do their job and not issue the permit to dump in the Reef’s water.

This decision takes 10 days, so we only have a small window to put the pressure on.

If you care about what happens to our Reef - call GBRMPA right now and tell them to deny the permit for Abbot Point.

They won’t take strong action unless they are inundated with messages from people like you. We've put together some talking points that will make your call a success.

You are the voice of the Great Barrier Reef. Together we can remind GBRMPA it’s their job to protect our national icon.
