Administration

CAMPOREE SOLD OUT!

By March 5, 2014 all 35,000 North America and 2,000 International Tickets have been sold out. The last three international camporees have sold out all domestic and international tickets six months before the Oshkosh Camporee.

Congratulations to every one who has planned over the last 4 1/2 years to be present at the largest six day Adventist event in the world.

Begin to pray now for the Holy Spirit to be present as we share the Bible story of Daniel.

If someone still needs an international ticket please contact your division youth ministries department to be placed on a master list where those who want to sell or buy tickets can be connected.

All FFIC tickets will be airmailed by April 30, 2014 to the address placed on the international application form. If you do not receive mail at that address, please email camporee@cye.org your mailing address as soon as possible.

All international tickets are non-refundable except when a pathfinder is denied a US Visa.

To receive a ticket refund because of a US Visa denial, the original ticket and letter from the US Consulate where the visa was denied must be mailed to the Camporee office by August 30, 2014. Refunds will be made by October 2014, and only when complete documentation is supplied.

Food and Non-Food Pre-Orders:

You may pre-order food items at the Sam's Club in Appleton, 25 miles north of the FFIC Camporee. You may order non-food items at the local Wal-Mart, but they do not offer food pre-orders.

Hotel Reservations:

CYE is no longer accepting hotel reservations. Our hotel rooms are all reserved. For a list of area hotel options, contact the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, (920) 303-2266.

Dorm Reservations:

To reserve a dorm room at the University of Wisconsin, call Gruenhagen Conference Center Guest Reservations at 920-424-1106, between the hours of 7:00 A.M. to midnight daily CST. Please reference "Pathfinder International Camporee" when calling to make a reservation.

Lodging will range in price from $30 to $40 per night. Rooms are suited for two people, and include two single beds, compact refrigerator, microwave, desk, chairs, dresser and closet. All rooms are carpeted.

Camporee Physical Address:

The Camporee grounds cover 704 acres on the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). Therefore, it is difficult to give accurate directions to the site itself. Below is the physical address for the Air Museum which is onsite. This should be used for GPS direction purposes only, and NOT for mailing packages.

Physically Challenged Transportation Options:

It is very important for disabled persons at the Camporee to pre-plan their daily transportation. Only Conference Youth Directors may order golf carts. Disabled persons are permitted to bring their own personal mobility device, as long as it is designed for only one person, and is used in that fashion. The campground activity shuttle buses accommodate wheel chairs.

Airport Transport:

People arriving at local airports must find their own transportation to and from the Camporee grounds. The Camporee organization does not provide this service. The Camporee suggests that you shop around for airport shuttle options, but we have been told that Leaders Travel Agency was very reliable at the 2009 Camporee. Staff Volunteers Needed

The success of the International Camporee depends on the assistance of hundreds of volunteer staff. Staff volunteers provide support for each area of the camporee: Administration, Daytime and Nighttime Programming, Communication, Facilities, Safety, Medical, and others.

If you are interested in applying to be a camporee staff volunteer, you can do so now! Here are just a few of the needs:

Medical (Physicians, Nurses, EMT's & Physical Therapists).
FFIC Radio Station all needs helpers.
Experienced Security Personal.
Bilingual Volunteers for Registration (French, Spanish, Korean, Portuguese).
Facilities (Shower Maintenance, certified large equipment drivers)
Photography Professionals

FFIC staff volunteers are responsible for purchasing their camporee ticket, and providing their own food and lodging while at the camporee.  They'll also be required at least 4 hours of volunteer time per day.

Safety And Medical

Keeping everyone safe at the Camporee is one of our top priorities, and you can help!  We are still looking for experienced volunteer staff to help with safety at the Camporee for 4 hours per day. You must be 21 or older. If you are interested in being part of the FFIC safety team, please fill out the Volunteer Form and email it to Karacan Thomas, Volunteer Coordinator.

TLT (Teen Leader in Training)

TLT's are Stepping Up!

TLT's, now is the time to step forward and be part of the growing TLT volunteer staff for Oshkosh. Volunteer only 15 hours of service during  Camporee week and receive a special TLT Volunteer Forever Faithful pin for your uniform. This is the only Camporee where you can earn this pin. Make sure you fill out the TLT Volunteer Application Form.

Onsite Communications

FFIC Radio Station:

We will be broadcasting announcements, stories, and information each day via our very own FFIC Radio Station from the campground.  The amazing story of Daniel will also be broadcast each night rain or clear weather.

We will be broacasting at the camporee at FM 102.9.  We will be broadcasting 24/7 beginning at 12 noon on Monday, August 11, 2014.  

Information Booths and Information Ambassadors:
There will be four Information Booths located around the camporee grounds. There will be 12 information-trained staff called ambassadors who will be wearing brightly colored vest and will be equipped with Ipads to answer all your questions.

Photography:
Their will be 7 volunteer photography teams who will be assigned various photography assignments. Assignments include daily events, special activities, nighttime programming, etc. Volunteers who own professional equipment are needed to be a part of one of these 7 teams.

Daytime Activities

Adventist Rodders Club:

The Adventist Rodders Club had a presence at the last three International Camporees! So if you are a member of the Adventist Rodders Club, and/or have an antique or classic car that you can bring to the Camporee to possibly be selected for the FFIC parades, contact - Donny Gore, Onsite Parade Coordinator.

Bus Shuttle Transportation:

The 2014 FFIC requires the movement of thousands of people throughout the day.  FFIC contracts with a local bus service to provide most, but not all, of those transportation services. Transportation is provided at no cost.

Sign up your club for the Oshkosh Instep4Life 3-Day Pathfinder Challenge. Pathfinder directors must sign up the club first. Pathfinders individual registration starts in April. The first 1000 registered names will receive free giveaways (Tshirts, pedometers, pins and a cool patch). Participation is limited to 2000 pathfinders. Main Stage Talent Auditions:

You can showcase your talents and participate in the daily talent tent auditions which may get you a spotlight on the main stage for that night's program. The Talent Tent will be open daily for sign ups from 9-9:30 am.  Auditions will be from 9:30-12 pm.

We're allowing ONLY ONE ENTRY per club per day!  You must be accompanied by your club director.

Theme Song:

Thank you to all of you who sent in your audition for the theme song. The winner will receive 2 free tickets to attend the camporee as well as the opportunity to sing your theme song live on opening night, August 12, 2014. The winner will be announced in a future newsletter.

Praise Team Auditions:

Would you like to perform with the Praise Team on the nighttime stage? We are accepting auditions from anyone who would like to sing or play an instrument. Different winners will be selected to perform on each one of the 5 nights. Please submit your audition here.

We are asking each of you to submit the title of a song that you would like to hear and sing at the camporee. Please send ONE song title to praise@cye.org.  

 


Baptism at FFIC

Would you like to seal your commitment with your Forever Faithful Friend Jesus? 

Baptisms will be taking place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening during the pre-nighttime program according the scheduling of each union conference.

You may access the Baptism Registration Form online. If you're under 18 please be sure to have your parent/guardian, and pastor, read and sign the form.  If you're 18 and older, you must submit the baptism form with your pastors' signature.

International Guest Information

NAD Club Hosts are Urgently Needed!

Can your club host 5, 10, or 20 international guests?  It’s time to plot Camporee space for each conference and we are waiting on answers to many emails to clubs and conferences still.  If you are willing to host two or more guests, PLEASE email the following information right away.

  • 1. Club name, conference and union
  • 2. Club leader name, email and cell number
  • 3. Club registration order number and email entered with registration
  • 4. Number of guests you can provide free food and tents (guests pay their own way to camp and bring own bedding and personal items)
  • 5. Preferred country and any languages spoken fluently by club members

 

Have you independently agreed to host international guests?  Thank you if so, but we urgently need all the information about your club (1-5 above), plus the guest group leader name, email, cell number, country and ticket order number.

Hosting is a blessing to guests and hosts.  We can never out-give God.  Please act today.  Email your response no later than March 30, 2014, to camporeehosting@gmail.com

Expect a reply email offering a specific group within 10 days.  Once you confirm, we introduce you to your guests, and from thereon you keep each other informed of any changes, and travel plans.

If you would like to grow friendships with a NAD club and would appreciate their food and tent hospitalities while at Camporee, please email camporee.hosting@gmail.com with your registration numbers and the name on your completed registration ticket.  Do not contact us until your registration is confirmed.  We consider email communication an update to the information initially entered at the time your registration began in our database.  If you need to make changes at any time, please email your updated information right away.

Pathfinder News

Pathfinders win 2013 Adventists InStep for Life awards.

These awards were presented at the NAD Health Summit in Orlando, Fla. Pictured is the presentation of the award to the Mt. Zion Warriors of Kissimee, Fla., one of the winners of $1,000, presented to the four Pathfinder Clubs with the most miles. The rest of the winners are listed here.

35,000 youth attend Adventist camporee in Brazil

A record 35,000 young people, mostly Seventh-day Adventists, from 12 nations gathered in Barretos, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo from January 7 through 12 for the Fourth South American Pathfinder Camporee, a gathering of young people that promotes Christian living and community service.

The city received 850 busses carrying participants predominantly from the Americas, but some also having first traveled from Asia and Europe. An estimated 800 dining areas were designated to feed the attendees

The Camporee also boasted a museum displaying the history of Pathfinders, a shopping mall, a supermarket, bakery, snack bar, police and fire outposts and at least 500 people in charge of security and internal transit.

Camporee Travel Accident Insurance Now Available!

As Pathfinder Clubs around the world make their travel plans for the 2014 Forever Faithful International Camporee in Oshkosh next summer it is critical to provide travel accident insurance for all Pathfinders and adults in your group.  Adventist Risk Management is pleased to announce special Camporee Travel Accident Insurance is now available for all Pathfinder groups at our website: www.Adventistrisk.org

For 2014 there are two types of Travel Accident Insurance available depending on your Club’s country of residence:

United States Based Pathfinder Clubs:

Travel & Camporee – Travel accident coverage round-trip from your departure location to Oshkosh, Wisconsin with an addition of up to seven (7) added travel days for personal deviation in route.  This allows Clubs to include side trips/activities in addition to attending the Forever Faithful Camporee.  Cost: $4.55 per person.   Coverage includes:  $50,000 for accidental medical expense, subject to a $100 deductible.  Accidental dental expenses are $250 per tooth subject to a maximum of $500.  Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefits of $50,000.  Additional benefits may apply – See policy summary listed on the ARM website.

Camporee Only – Accident coverage from Monday, August 11th through Saturday, August 16, 2014 during the Camporee event only at the Oshkosh, Wisconsin site.  Cost:  $2.33 per person.  Coverage includes:  $50,000 for accidental medical expense, subject to a $100 deductible.  Accidental dental expenses are $250 per tooth subject to a maximum of $500.  Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefits of $50,000.  Additional benefits may apply – See policy summary listed on the ARM website.
This insurance is underwritten by the ACE Insurance group with rates and coverage unchanged from the 2009 Courage to Stand International Camporee.  This insurance provides your Pathfinder Club with broader coverage than the standard accident insurance provided for Club activities by your Conference.

Internationally Based Pathfinder Clubs:
All Pathfinder Clubs located outside of the United States {including Canada and Bermuda} are unfortunately, not eligible to purchase the ACE travel accident insurance program. International Pathfinder Clubs should purchase ARM’s Short Term Travel Accident Insurance for all Pathfinders and adults traveling with your group.  Several coverage options are available to provide accidental medical/illness expense coverage, emergency evacuation/repatriation and other travel related expenses.
