Assessing Fairtrade’s Impact
Our 2013-14 annual report includes a summary of recent impact studies. Findings demonstrate positive benefits, including increased household income and reduced production costs for farmers, and improved labour conditions and job stability for workers. Research also highlighted challenging conditions for casual labourers on small-scale farms and the need for greater market access for many producers. Fairtrade is already taking steps in both areas.
