Congratulations to the Bryn Mawr Film Institute for achieving its 10th anniversary as an unmitigated success. VMA is proud to have been there from the beginning, helping BMFI through five renovation, restoration, and expansion projects, allowing it to better serve its mission and the community.

OUR INVOLVEMENT went beyond architecture, including: getting the building listed on the National Register of Historic Places; supporting BMFI’s successful efforts to get preservation and community development grants; and an inspired selection of finishes to create an ambiance that is inviting, contextual, and “popcorn safe”.

THE END RESULT included improvements such as a magnificent new marquee, a spectacularly restored two-story, skylit atrium; and doubling the number of screens available for patrons. You learn more about the project with this engaging short video:

If you have never been there, you should make a visit to watch a critically acclaimed, Oscar-worthy film, take advantage of a stimulating film-education course, or participate in a summer filmmaking workshop, all while enjoying the ambiance of this historic, 1926 movie house.  And if you can’t get there, you can take a couple of minutes with BMFI’s great website www.brynmawrfilm.org.
