When we mention website copy, most people think big words, sales speak and marketing ploys. In fairness some of that is true, but the one thing which must always be considered is that copy for a website is very different to copy for print. Firstly people tend to spend very little time reading text on a website then they do looking at pretty images and clicking interesting links and snazzy buttons.

Cookies, text files that help organise and store browsing information, are certainly a hot topic this year.
On the 26th of May 2011, new laws came into force in the UK that affect most web sites. If cookies are used in a site, the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 (UK Regulations) provide that certain information must be given to that site's visitors and the user must give their consent to the placing of the cookies.
