Working with Families

Family photo

Our partnership work for the project saw us meet with Jan Pardoe and Debra Thomas from Action for Children and Michael Flynn from Diverse Cymru, to discuss partnership agreements and how we could work with families within their network.

Action for Children has confirmed they have six groups of families ready for consultation including parents under 25 in Swansea, parents of disabled children in Cardiff and a disability group from Caerphilly/ Torfaen.

To make sure we reach a diverse range of families we are now looking to involve families from rural areas, North Wales and Welsh speakers. Please contact Cindy Chen at cindy@promo-cymru.org or on 029 2045 2222.

Working With Family Information Services

We have obtained a list of all Family Information Service (FIS) contacts, and attended the FIS network meeting in Newtown in October to meet FIS representatives and explain about the Informed Families Project.

We were also contacted by the FIS manager of Rhondda Cynon Taff with a request to run the scoping exercise jointly with the Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent and Merthyr Tydfil FISs.

The first stage of the scoping exercise is an online questionnaire gathering information from all FIS to promote further discussion.  We are in the process of arranging the next steps of the Cardiff pilot.

Consultion & Branding

Young Family

Our consultation session is being developed to include participative activities to help families taking part to identify their information needs  and gain an understanding of the project.

Work is also underway with our design and technology partner, Burning Red to take the consultation to the next stage of branding development.
