PreK4 eNews

Next week we will be doing a unit on Dr. Seuss, in honor of his birthday.  He wrote so many great stories with silly characters and it will be a fun week of reading and rhyming!  In conjunction with one of our favorite Dr. Seuss books, we will celebrate WACKY WEDNESDAY on Wednesday, March 11.

Children may dress in a “wacky” way. Some ideas include crazy socks, wacky hair (spiked, different bows, or several ponytails for girls), backwards or inside out shirts, and mismatched clothes.  Students do need to wear tennis shoes and please no pajamas or costumes on this day. Also, keep in mind that children still need to be independent when using the restroom – wearing pants backwards may cause frustrations! This will be a fun and wacky day!

Next Week

  • Bible Verse: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (We will practice this verse for two weeks.  Practice at home too!)
  • Bible Story: Peter Walks on Water
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness We will introduce the letter and sound of “Ww”. (Think wish and walrus)
  • Math:  #10, number order, sequencing
  • Unit: Dr. Seuss
  • Show and Tell: Bring something that begins with the letter and sound /w/.

Scholastic Book Fair!

Next week is our Scholastic Book Fair!  It will be held in the library March 9-13.

Below is a link to our Scholastic Book Fair Website. There is even online shopping for the fair and that is already active for you!  There is a new option for payment called "ewallet" in addition to traditional payment methods.  This involves pre-loading money (like a gift card allowance)-for your student. They don't have to bring in their barcode because it will pop up on our cash registers for them. If the money on their ewallet is not used, it will automatically go back into your account at end of the week. if you have more than one child at Shiloh, you will need to do an ewallet account for each of your children separately should you choose this payment option.
