BOFA FILM FESTIVAL

What is a BOFA we hear you ask? It’s a Breath Of Fresh Air and, after the year that was, we could all do with a little. We believe a BOFA is so good for you, we’re inviting you to join us as we return to the big screen in both Launceston (30 April –2 May) and Hobart (28-30 May). Better still, if the sofa is your thing, kick back at the FREE online BOFA festival (3 –30 May).

BOFA 2021 showcases world class features and documentaries curated around themes of Stories of Us, Chasing Wonder, We Are Who We Are, World Stories, Eat & Drink, The Choices We Make, By Design, and Climate Action.

IN-CINEMA AND ONLINE FESTIVALS

FILMS

BOFA 2020 was Australia’s first online – and FREE - film festival. In 2021 we are again free and online. We are streaming 18 stunning films from 12 countries as far away as Cuba and Kurdistan to right here in Australia.

And as you emphatically told us that you missed sharing - great films, discussion and argument with friends- we are delighted to announce that BOFA is back at Village Cinemas in Launceston and Hobart. We have sourced 20 films just for you from 12 countries from as far away as Bhutan and as close to home as New Zealand.

That means you have the best of both worlds, and nothing says you can’t enjoy both!

Details of online and in-cinema festivals will be fresh from the printers and online (breath-of-fresh-air.com.au) before Easter. We’ll also send you newsletters with our best picks and other juicy titbits. Stay tuned.

INTRODUCING ICONS OF TASMANIA

BOFA Film Festival is proudly Tasmania’s film festival and we are understandably lovers of all things Tasmanian. So, this year we have picked the best wine, spirits and food producers, the best places to stay while you enjoy Tasmania, the best producers of artisanal and other products as well as the best providers of uniquely Tasmanian experiences.

We call them the Icons of Tasmania and they will be on sale with added BOFA Bonuses very soon.

AMAZING GRACE

We are proud to welcome Grace Williams to our Board. She is the Director of Citizen Tasmania and a powerful young activist shaping grassroots action across Tasmania. In her final year studying Law and shortlisted as Tasmania Young Australian of the Year, Williams founded Citizen Tasmania to offer strong advocacy and creative tools to strengthen human rights within communities. She is a film director and speaks widely on engaging communities and empowering activism. She was awarded Tasmanian Human Rights Youth Award in 2020. Amazing, indeed.
