PH 2nd Grade eNews

What a great week we have had! We will be counting down our last several days - here are some fun things we plan on doing with our countdown! It’s a surprise each day, but I want you to be aware!

Monday - Bring a favorite stuffed animal (no noise and must fit in backpack).
Tuesday - Share a funny appropriate joke!
Wednesday - We will let them take shoes off in class!
Thursday - We will write Thank You Notes during centers.
Friday - Wear your favorite cap/hat.

Academics

Bible - We have a review unit on all the Bible characters we have studied throughout the year. We will review our school verse: Hebrews 12:1-2
Reading We will read a story called “Now and Ben.” We will learn about inventions from the past and now.
Spelling – We will have a review of words from this year. We will have some fun with our review time.
Grammar – Review of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs with Mad Libs.
Math – Multiplying with 3 as a factor, subtraction with zeros in the minuend, identify money by determining change, & expanded form numerals

Important Dates & Information

May 22 - Field Day and lunch, parents are encouraged to attend! Students will wear field trip shirt and athletic shorts (boys may wear swim trunks, girls may wear swim suits underneath- all shirts/shorts will stay on. Students will need a towel and sunscreen on. Do not order lunch on this day-Mr. And Mrs. Young are cooking hot dogs. If your child does not like hot dogs, they can bring their lunch. If your child is going to extended care they will need a change of dress code clothes. Even if it rains, lunch will still be provided.
May 23 - Awards’ Assembly 8:30 a.m. in Cross Church sanctuary, you will drop off your child at school like normal, so we can pass out AR medals -Last day of School - Dismissal immediately after the assembly - No Extended Care. No Lunch
