2011 has been a great year for Inspire. ReachOut.com helped 517,767 people*, more than ever before. This is only possible because our supporters were more generous than in any other year of Inspire’s history. Because of this wonderful support, we have a strong platform for the year to come.

*How do we define ‘people helped’?  It’s those unique visitors who we know have really engaged with Reachout.com, e.g. beyond a single page view. Last year ReachOut.com received 1,429,132 unique visitors, an increase from 1,158,100 in 2009-10.

Christmas isn’t always easy an easy time of year for young people. Exams results, family troubles or feeling alone, plus the pressure for it to be a perfect day can make things pretty stressful.

If a young person you know is feeling overwhelmed, ReachOut.com has factsheets and support to help them get through.

Mindfulness is all about learning to be in the moment, without ruminating on the past or stressing out about the future. Ever since I first heard about mindfulness as a relaxation and grounding technique, it has been my saving grace – who knew that something as simple as focusing on my breathing, or paying real attention to the things that I can see and hear would be so effective in making my mind a calmer place? 

Now when I’m getting frantic about exams, friends, work, life – I take five minutes, find somewhere quiet and centre myself in the here and now – which is exactly where I want to be!

Christmas is the perfect time to give a gift to Inspire!  You could even make your family Christmas an Inspire Christmas, and raise money instead of, or as well as, giving presents. (Our EveryDayHero page makes it easy.) Every donation makes a difference.

You can also let students at an Australian high school know that ReachOut.com is there for them through our Back to [High] School appeal.

A donation of $44 means that you can send a kit of ReachOut.com promotional materials to the high school of your choice.
