News, views and analysis from the A/NZ tech sector No images? Click here Hi there, It’s been a couple of years since Vocus’ last big attempt to offload its New Zealand business. Now it’s called in the financial advisors in preparation for a potential IPO of the Kiwi business – the country’s fourth largest telco. The parent company says a successful IPO will provide greater balance sheet flexibility and enable Vocus Network Services to invest in core long-term strategic fibre opportunities and build on product capabilities. Across the ditch, the NZX, which has seen a dearth of new listings, will no doubt be rubbing its hands in glee. After the failure of the 2017-18 sale attempt which saw plenty of talk and a shortlist of potential buyers, but ultimately no action, Vocus Group will be hoping this time the winds are more favourable to get the deal done.
