lyndon blue: live reviews
TURA PRESENTS CLUB ZHO 102 - YOUNG COMPOSERS NIGHT @ THE BAKERY
“I have to finish by twelve, maybe one tonight,” Wassim the taxi driver tells me. That’s cool. I’ll be home by about eleven in any case. “I must only do short shifts, because I am fasting. Not much energy.” I agree with Wassim about the importance of rest. He asks me what I do for a living. Interesting question. I tell him I’m a musician, but that’s not much of a “living.”
“A musician!” he exclaims, veering onto Thomas Street. “I like some very different music…” he flicks off the dull murmurings of AM talkback and fires up a CD. “You might not like this, but…”

On the Future, Space, Travel and Future Space Travel Vs military investment
When I was a child, I spent hours laying on my trampoline staring into the night sky, feeling absolutely humbled by the knowledge that the inconceivable number of stars above me were an inconceivably long, long way away. I was aware that each star must have planets rotating around them, and my younger brother and I would occasionally talk about the idea of other life forms doing the same thing as us on their alien trampolines in their alien backyards, and the possibility of some other creature, on some other rock somewhere, looking in our direction as we look towards them.

Production To Find Liveliness In Death: The Book of Death (A Story of Life) at The Blue Room Theatre
Renegade Productions have been one of the most prolific companies in the Perth independent scene for a couple of years now. Artistic Director Joe Lui is a writer, sound designer, lighting designer, set designer, director to name a few things, basically he’s a walking theatre production and always seems to be working on two to three shows at once. The sheer energy and commitment of the man should be commended.

band of frequencies
at the indi bar, scarborough
With an ethos of freedom from any limitations, BAND OF FREQUENCIES draw their influences from a vast spectrum of progressive roots, rock, electronic and psychedelic styles to create their own expression. The band coined the phrases Free Soul & Cyclonic Sonics to describe their intentions to "allow the present moment to evolve into a sound future while reflecting a deep respect for all who have come before us." It’s this spirit that resonates within passionate music lovers who have embraced their sound. It's this essence that has lead to invitations to grace the stages of diverse festivals, at home and abroad, and record soundtracks to several internationally released surf films.

There is no light, no lycra, no teacher, no steps to learn, no technique, just free movement. Runner special acoustic performance
at The Ellington JAZZ CLUB, PERTH
Thursday, August 30
RUNNER play The Ellington as a follow on show from their blissful & mesmerizing show which closed the 300ppl attendance show at Guildford Grammar Chapel.
The challenges of playing an entirely acoustic show in a musical world usually filled with layers of guitar effects proved an enticing prospect for rising local outfit Runner. The band pulled key elements from their songs and attached them to foundations of strings and voice to produce a rich set to draw last month's HUSH show to a close in the packed Chapel of St Mary and St George.
Those that missed the event will have another chance to catch Runner in this unusual and insightful form at the Ellington Jazz Club
Thursday August 30, where with more time to prepare they will be digging deeper to find more flourishes to fit more polished modern surrounds. Supports are THE FLOWER DRUMS & THE SHALLOWS!
Tickets are $15 available presale thru the Ellington website www.ellingtonjazz.com.au
