2nd Grade eNews

Another great week! The students are doing a great job on the Ten Commandments. Keep practicing!

Next Week

  • Bible - We will continue our unit on Moses and will be discussing respect for authority. On Friday, we will be responsible for saying all Ten Commandments.
  • Reading - Our unit will be on Spiders this week. We will finish and evaluate our skill on Character.
  • Spelling - Our skill this week will be Voiced s (z). Some examples of this skill would be words such as: pose, has, is
  • We will also work on s as a suffix with words such as: taps, bats, tips
  • Grammar - We will continue working with nouns and learning about plural and singular nouns
  • Math - Analyzing bar graphs - vertical and horizontal, subtraction families to 8, value of money and temperature

Important Dates

  • September 26 - Grandparents’ Day Program @ 8:30, Come early at 8:00 for coffee with Shiloh leadership! This is NOT an early dismissal day, however if you want to check your child out to spend time with grandparents, you may as a half day excused absence. Students need to wear normal chapel dress.
  • September 27 - We will travel to the Springdale campus to see their Grandparent’s Day program and then will come back to our campus to have early dismissal @ 11:00, No Extended Care
  • October 3 - Cookie Dough Pick Up
  • October 4 - Homecoming party - more info to come later
  • October 14 - No school for students, Parent-Teacher conferences
  • October 16 - Field trip to Farmland Adventures, more information to come!
