In the latest survey with our partner GlobeScan 800 global experts from 74 countries provided their perspectives on the most effective forms of collaboration, how business should (and in reality, would) approach governments to address sustainability issues, and the most valued attributes of a collaboration partner. As collaboration continues to be viewed as one of the few models that could catalyze solutions to the sustainable development challenges this survey marks the start of our exploration into the potential pitfalls of collaboration as well as the types of alliances and coalitions that offer the most hope for the future.

The Investor View on Ratings

In the latest in our Rate the Raters series we have sought the views of investors who don’t specifically focus on socially responsible investment on how they are using and getting value from corporate sustainability ratings. The good news is that over 60% of respondents say they are using environmental, social and governance (ESG) data and information more today than they were three years ago, while 63% say they will use such data and information more three years from today. Less good is that despite the dire scientific projections, only 42% of respondents said that climate change is important in their analysis of companies.
