CHAP NEWS

Our Fearless Leader - Prof Robyn Clark

Professor Robyn Clark has been appointed as Professor of Nursing and Director of Nursing and Midwifery Research at Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN). The joint appointment by SALHN and Flinders University will focus on enhancing the nexus of clinical care, research and teaching and is the first research position of its kind at SALHN in almost 20 years. In taking up the position, Professor Clark says she is honoured to be able to inspire the workforce and future generations who enter the profession.

Welcome Tania Marin

Tania Marin has recently joined the Cardiac Rehab for All (CR4ALL) project team to assist with data collection, analysis and reporting. Keeping Active

The CHAP team have been busy over the past month getting their steps up as part of the 10,000 Steps Challenge. With two weeks to go, we are currently coming 13th place out of 35 Flinders teams and Flinders University is in eighth position against 19 other Universities Australia wide. We encourage everyone to be active to improve your health and wellbeing.

Recruiting for Regional Design Workshops

We are looking for participants to take part in our Cardiac Rehab Especially for Women (CREW) and Cardiac Rehab for All (CR4ALL) workshops from all CR services in regional SA Local Health Networks (LHNs). If you have cardiac patients who are female and / or of lower socioeconomic status and at high risk of not attending cardiac rehab, we would like them to be involved in these workshops to help us better tailor cardiac rehab to their needs and preferences. Workshops will be held in regional SA during October / November 2022 with the first one in Pt Lincoln on Friday 14 October. If you are interested and have patients who would like to attend, please email Orathai Suebkinorn.

Using CATCH web (Online Cardiac Rehab)

Clients can use CATCH web to gain a better understanding of prescribed medications required after their initial cardiac event or diagnosis through engaging video educational content. While undertaking their cardiac rehabilitation program online, they can engage with videos such as:
- Understanding Cholesterol
- How do statins prevent heart attack and stroke?
Have you considered enrolling your telephone or face-to-face client in the web program to further support and educate them? If you would like access to CATCH web or have any questions, please email us.
