Adviser Corner: Way To Go Troy High School!

Another great day of leadership took place at the Palace of Auburn Hills last week, due largely to the efforts of the student leaders from Troy High School. In partnership with the Detroit Pistons, all student attendees helped to assemble hygienic bags to hand out to students in the Flint community to help ease the pain the water crisis has caused. Troy High School collected items and raised funds to assemble these critical items that created 500 individual bags to donate! A HUGE thank you for their inspirational work and to all students that attended to work on this wonderful service project.

What To Do With Off-Campus, Online Student Speech

It's a problem of dramatically increasing frequency. Students, off-campus at the time, sending messages to other students via social media that bully, torment, threaten, and create turmoil. Students claim a right to free speech and point to the fact that they were not at school when they made the postings. But the school faces the very real concern of what might happen between the students as a result of the online activity when the students are at school. Click here for the full article.
