New BCI Board Members

Basketball Club International is pleased to welcome two new board members, Brandon Ideker and Judson Robertson, to our team.

Brandon Ideker is a cofounder of Cedrus, a family advisory firm that integrates capital, life purposes and family goals with wealth growth and protection strategies in Golden, Colorado. Prior to starting Cedrus, Brandon worked for its predecessor firm, Lifetime Wealth Private Client Experience and Marsh, Inc. He earned his MBA and Master of Finance degrees from the University of Denver and serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations including Hope House of Colorado.

Judson Robertson was born and raised in Marshalltown, Iowa and remains a lifelong Hawkeye fan. After earning his BS in Finance on a baseball scholarship to Western Kentucky University, Judson worked as an asset manager for Principal Global Investors in their commercial real estate development department. He moved to Denver in 2008. Judson is currently an associate broker with Newmark Knight Frank Frederick Ross, a commercial real estate brokerage firm. He attends Red Rocks Church in Golden, Colorado, leads a bible study in his home, and also serves as a board member for Brokers Benefitting Kids and as Co-Chair for the Urban Land Institute’s Community Outreach Committee.

A Tribute to Sharm at the U. of Iowa

January 23 was “Sharm Scheuerman Day” at the University of Iowa, where a special ceremony during the Hawk’s game against Indiana honored Sharm’s legacy as a player and coach. At halftime, Kathy Scheuerman was joined by Sharm’s children and grandchildren, and many former teammates and players on the court. Kathy was presented with Sharm’s jersey, stitched with a special “SS” patch which was also worn by every Hawkeye player in the game that day to celebrate Iowa’s famous “Fab Five” player and coach.

After the game, a reception at the Press Club at Kinnick Stadium gave everyone a chance to remember the strong legacy of Iowa’s basketball program and look forward to the future. A special thanks to Nolden Gentry of Des Moines, a former Hawkeye who played under Sharm, for working with the University of Iowa to organize this special tribute and reception. We appreciate the generous contributions of Director of Athletics Gary Barta, Coach Fran McCaffery and the University of Iowa Basketball Department, and Les Steenlage and the Iowa Varsity Club that made this day possible. Also, congratulations to the team for their victory over Indiana in this nationally televised game. Go Hawks!

What people are saying:

“Sharm’s book has been a real gift. It has given me the opportunity to sit with my 13 year old son, enjoying the basketball aspect and getting gut level about real life.”
- John

“‘Step Up Your Game’ has been a valuable tool for the spiritual and physical development of my high school basketball team. What an amazing resource that Sharm has created for all of us by capturing segments of his life and sharing these rewarding experiences. Sharm continues to live in the lives of these young athletes by instilling his definition of value and character. Even my players who did not know Sharm now have a new hero!”
- Mike

“‘Step Up your Game’ is a heartfelt, personal and public journey of an incredible man. This book is an inspiring and challenging guide for anyone interested in basketball and – more importantly – for anyone who has a passion for life. Although Sharm has left us, through this book and his legacy, he is still coaching.”
- Stephen
