2nd Grade eNews

The students have started this year off working hard. I pray you are staying warm and healthy!

Bible - We will visit Nehemiah again, using chapters 4-9. Our memory verse will be:
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Reading - We will be reading Officer Buckle and Gloria with the target skill of Cause and Effect.

Spelling - All of our words this week will be compound words:
cannot   pancake   maybe   baseball   playground   someone   myself   classroom   sunshine   outside   upon   nothing   sentence man

Grammar - Abbreviations

Math - We will finish our chapter over 3-digit numbers and test on Monday. We will start a new chapter of addition with 3-digit numbers with renaming/carrying.

Social Studies and Writing - We will continue working on our MLK speeches and understanding what they mean.

• January 17 - MLK Chapel @ 8:30 a.m. (Second Graders will sing and give speeches during this chapel.)
• January 21 - No School (unless we need it to replace a snow day)
• February 7 - We will travel to the Springdale campus to present our little dribblers to them at 9:15 in the gym.
