Statement on the 2020 Census Citizenship Question

On March 27, 2018, Commerce Secretary Ross decided that the 2020 Census will include a citizenship status question. CPC is gravely concerned that this question will discourage people from completing the Census, and the Asian American community already struggles to ensure that our community members are counted.  

Brooklyn BP Eric Adams Recognizes Steve Mei with Community Service Award

On February 22, 2018, Steve Mei, Director of CPC Brooklyn Community Services, received a Community Services Award from Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams' in celebration of the Lunar New Year. Steve was acknowledged for over 16 years of dedicated service with CPC.

CPC in the Women In Human Services Hall of Fame

Women make up 81% of the human services workforce. In honor of Women's History Month and to bring attention to the need for investment in nonprofits, Judy Ah-Yune, Director of CPC Manhattan Community Services (left), and Sherry Ng, Program Supervisor of CPC Asian Family Services (right), join 37 strong women in nonprofits for this special Hall of Fame. 

ECS Youth Participate in National Student Walkout Day

On March 14th, youth from CPC's Education and Career Services Division (ECS) joined nearly one million students around the country by participating in National School Walkout Day to remember the victims of the Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy and take a stand against all forms of gun violence.

Amy Torres Joins Policy and Public Affairs Division

Amy Torres, Director of Policy and Advocacy, joins the Policy and Public Affairs Division. Amy has been at CPC since 2013 and most recently served as Deputy Director of Education and Career Services. 

CPC BEST (Business Exploration Student Track) with JPMorgan Chase

Eleven JPMorgan Chase volunteers came to CPC’s Manhattan Community Center to mentor a group of 14 students who are participants of CPC’s BEST (Business Exploration Student Track) program.
