THE LOTS-OF-REASONS-TO-CELEBRATE! ISSUE — What a fantastic time of year! Everywhere you look there are reasons to celebrate!
School is almost out and graduation is on the horizon (hooray!). Summer has made itself known and the official start of grilling season is just a few days away (yippee!). And that wonderful three-day event known as Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner (wahoo!).
If that’s not enough, a number of our clients have recently had grand opening celebrations. From Rocco Altobelli and Gold Guys last month to Bühler and First Supply / Kohler in the past few weeks, it seems we’ve been cutting ribbons and clinking glasses with friends every couple days.
So put on a fancy dress (or a brand new tie) and read on for more about some recent celebrations and the great projects behind them. And click over to Architect Steve Iaria’s InterKOM for a rundown of our many clients appearing in the media lately.
Ready … set … celebrate!

Clean. Sanitary. INNOVATIVE.
Who says sterile can’t be beautiful?
The Bühler Food Innovation Center, a premier food-grade processing facility, recently opened its doors and did so with the help of engineers and architects from Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates.
Bühler, a global leader in technologies and services for food production, wanted to develop an innovative facility that showcased its various food processing options and equipment. The facility also needed to fully extend the company’s industry-leading Food Safety Initiative, which seeks to give customers the knowledge, equipment and other resources to fully understand and comply with FDA guidelines. To that end, it was important that the facility itself adhere to specific sanitary standards in both design and operation.
KOMA and longtime partner PCL Construction worked as a design-build team to create and execute the Bühler space.
