Dear ,

It has been a long but fruitful term for many of us. We hope that everyone who attended the Diwali and Thanksgiving celebrations enjoyed them as much as we did. There are lots of Christmas events coming up and we look forward to seeing you there.

Whether you are staying in the UK, going home, studying or getting out and about we are here to help you make the most of every opportunity.

All the best,
Zoe Rutterford

Update from the International Student Advisers

We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce the International Student Advisers. The team is made up of Minoti Balraj and Donna McKie who are based in the Forum on the Streatham Campus but also run drop in sessions at the Library in St Lukes.

We have had a very successful start of term, submitting 400 visa extension applications and helping with Fresher’s Week and Diwali among other things. We look forward to meeting more of our international students over the next few months!

Getting ready to leave for Christmas?

Living in Private Accommodation? Got lots of glass? Concerned about bringing home Christmas valuables? The Student Community Wardens are here to help. If you don’t have access to a vehicle and need a hand bringing glass to a local bottle bank – we can assist. We can also security mark current valuables or book appointments to security mark new Christmas presents when you return in January. Email to find out more.

Keep your visas and passports safe

We would like to remind students to keep their BRP cards (visas) and passports safe when they travel this Christmas. Information about what to do if you lose your passport or BRP can be found on our website

Please be aware that it can take the Home Office up to 8 weeks to replace a lost BRP in the UK. We therefore advise against keeping passports and  BRPs in your wallet or bag to use as proof of age ID as this increases the chance of losing them or having them stolen.

Studying smarter not harder

Many students have assignments to hand in before the end of term and then exams start looming. It's easy to feel overwhelmed so now is the time to think about studying smarter, not harder. Click here to see some advice. The Wellbeing Service have also released a fantastic video about stressbusting and an online pack to help with exam stress. If you start to feel overwhelmed talk to one of our support services at Exeter.

Tuition fees

Just a reminder that Tuition Fees are chargeable for the academic period required by the programme, with annual amounts charged for each academic year of the programme unless otherwise stated.

It is to be expected that tuition fees will rise by a modest amount in future years to take account of inflationary pressures for subsequent years for all full time and part time programmes.

Throughout the year you can check your recent transactions and balance with the University of Exeter by accessing your online statement via exehub.

Being Thankful

Thank you to everyone who helped to organise and celebrate American Thanksgiving on 26 November at the Streatham campus. It was a great day filled with football, turkey, silly hats and friends. Catering tell me they served over 200 Thanksgiving lunches so it looks like we 'gobbled' our way through a lot of turkey! (sorry)
