“Flipping Your Course” Institute at the Sheridan Center

Tues, July 21 – Thurs, July 23
9 am – 3 pm each day (lunch provided)
Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning (96 Waterman St)

This intensive three-day workshop introduces the key components of flipped course design and prepares instructors to flip their own courses. Through a combination of hands-on activities, presentation, and discussion, we will work through the essentials of flipping a course, from designing online and in-class materials to facilitating learning activities in the classroom.

To apply, please complete this form by May 15th. Due to space limitations, registration is limited to Brown faculty (any rank), postdoctoral scholars, and designated graduate teaching assistants. A small stipend is available for faculty participants.

More information about the Institute is available here.

If you have any questions, please contact John_Melson@brown.edu.

Deadline to Apply for 2015-16 Certificate V is May 12th!

The Sheridan Center’s Certificate V program provides training in mentorship practices to prepare graduate students to become effective faculty research mentors and advisors at colleges and universities around the world. Graduate student mentors will receive training in positive mentorship principles and practices. Through monthly faculty-led discussions, graduate students will cultivate a broader understanding of the academy, contextualize the role of training, advising and mentorship in becoming successful scholars, and explore how they can develop their career networks. They will gain practical experience as mentors in an academic setting and be provided with a research stipend for their project.
