Investment guidance

The Charity Commission has recently issued updated guidance to charities. It broadens opportunities for trustees beyond solely considering financial return (eg social return). But, trustees must have clear motives for investment decisions and be able to justify best use of charitable resources.

An Action Guide for Charities on ethical investments was released to coincide with National Ethical Investment week. It highlights opportunities and impacts of ethical investment and sustainability and outlines some steps for considering the issues further.

From 2012/13 we are facing the total loss of our funding which primarily supports the production of our newsletter (Balanced Sheet), this e-bulletin and our 9-5 advice line. This will restrict our opportunity to continue providing these services. When the funding position is finalised we will let you know of the resulting impacts.
