My experience in Vietnam: – Isobel Spencer,
16 years old, Brindabella Christian College
The thought of trying to summarize the twelve or so days I spent in Vietnam this past April is difficult to express in just a few paragraphs. There is no way to describe everything I experienced and everything that our team experienced, so let me offer you a small excerpt from my journal, written in the last ten minutes before our plane landed on the tarmac at Canberra Airport.
“I’m exhausted – physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted. This trip has been an emotional roller coaster with things changing from inspiring to heartbreaking in a matter of minutes. I’m scared of this all ending because it’s been something that I’ve loved immensely. All I can say for now is that I truly hope I’ve had some kind of impact on the people that I met during this journey, because I know that each and every person I met had a great impact on me.”
