No images? Click here Dear FCMA Families, I am writing to inform you that I was recently notified that a staff member has tested positive for COVID. Although the risk of exposure within the school is very low given the mitigation strategies we are practicing, we want to move forward with the health and safety of the community as our top priority. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, we are going to move everyone to remote learning for this week. We feel the best strategy for returning to school safely is to block any potential spread until we learn more about the health of anyone who may have been in close contact with the staff member. We will initiate a case investigation and contact tracing with the Oakland County Health Division and will follow the guidance of the epidemiologist assigned to us. You will receive an email from your child’s teacher with their plan for learning from home. If your child or other household members are experiencing or have recently experienced COVID symptoms we strongly encourage you to have them tested. Rapid result tests have a higher rate of false-negative results, the molecular test (PCR) that goes to a lab is more accurate, although it generally takes longer to get the results. Symptomatic people should isolate while awaiting test results. We wish everyone continued good health and want to extend our gratitude for the care of the community has shown in doing your part to keep our students, staff, and families safe. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have. Peace & Be Well
