At Sketch Group, we believe that sketching can be transformational. Our sketches solve problems, bring stories to life, and simplify the complex. Here's a snapshot of what we've been up to lately. No Images? Click here That Time of Year: Giving BackHi there! If you're anything like me, when the end of the year rolls around, you probably start to think "I should donate to a charity or something". Perhaps, like me, you randomly select a cause or two that you feel good about supporting, come up with an arbitrary amount to donate, and jump online to make the transaction. Then you're done with it and your conscience can rest easy. Which is perfectly OK! But at Sketch Group, we wanted a more structured approach to giving embedded into our business. So we signed up for B1G1 (Buy 1, Give 1), a platform that makes it easy for organisations to link everyday activities with charitable projects. We liked this approach because:
As a bonus, what it means for our clients is that they also can also feel good about the fact that every time they work with us, they're also helping to literally change the world. Below is a snapshot of the impacts we've made to a range of projects we've hand-picked to align with the sustainable development goals. We're so grateful to all of the clients we worked with in November who helped us make this impact. You can read more about our attempt to embed a culture of giving into our business on the new Giving Back page on the Sketch Group website. You can also visit our B1G1 profile page. Perhaps a guide that highlights the milestones you need to hit, the roadblocks that might come up, and the destination you're aiming for? We can help your team get on the same page by graphically facilitating your vision workshop. As ideas and challenges are raised, we'll depict them visually. A visual record of a leadership meeting brings so many benefits:
Whether you're discussing KPIs, values, culture, profit, expansion or brainstorming ideas, having a graphic facilitator in the room adds real value. Understanding the future is easier when you can see it. Featured Video:Cohuna Weir Fish ScreensWho'd have thought that to protect native fish, we'd need to install giant tea sieves along our water channels? Okay, so it's a lot more complex and sophisticated than that, but irrigation diversion screens, which are being trialed between Gunbower Creek and Cohuna Channel in country Victoria, have the potential to make a massive difference to the fish that are being lost from our creeks and rivers. It's an Australian first, and it's pretty amazing. We were super pleased to help tell this story. This is our last newsletter for the year. We're excited to be getting into the festive season! But like all good elves, we're still working hard. If you have something urgent that you need help with, there's still the possibility for us to create a video or book in a live sketch before the end of the year. Let's see what's possible! Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram have more from us so check out the socials. Have a great break, and see you in 2019! Cheers
