Juno Beach Night Out Against Crime Draws Large Crowd

The annual Juno Beach Night Out Against Crime took place on Tuesday, February 11th, bringing together more than 250 residents and first responders for an evening of education, community engagement, and fun. Organized by the Juno Beach Police Department and sponsored by the Juno Beach Police Foundation, the event featured demonstrations and exhibits from more than 10 first responder and law enforcement agencies, showcasing their equipment and tactics.

A perennial highlight of the event was the live animal exhibits. The K9 units from the Juno Beach, Jupiter, and Palm Beach Gardens Police Departments impressed the crowd with their agility and training. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Mounted Unit showcased its massive patrol horses, while the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission introduced attendees to an alligator, a snake, and an baby owl.

Several law enforcement-related vendors were also on hand, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), an organization closely tied to John Walsh, whose son Adam was abducted in the mid-1990s. Other participants included State Farm Insurance, Flock Safety, the State Attorney's Office, and the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, attendees enjoyed hot dogs, ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn, and face painting, — and the first public appearance of Juno Beach Police K9 Patrick — making the evening exciting, informative, and fun.

This year's event was a tremendous success, reinforcing the strong partnership between law enforcement and the Juno Beach community.

The Safety Council of the Palm Beaches, in collaboration with the Juno Beach Police Department and generously sponsored by the Juno Beach Police Foundation, will be hosting a one day "Coaching the Mature Driver" course on February 28th, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This state-approved driver improvement course is specifically designed for licensed drivers over the age of 55, providing valuable insights into safe driving practices and techniques. The State of Florida mandates an insurance discount for drivers aged 55 and older who successfully complete a "state-approved" driver improvement course. Juno Beach Police Foundation Supports the Civic Association's Annual Shred Fest

The Juno Beach Police Foundation is proud to support, along with the Oceanview United Methodist Church and the Town of Juno Beach, the Civic Association's annual Shred Fest. This important community event will take place on Saturday, March 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Oceanview United Methodist Church.

Shred Fest provides residents with a secure way to dispose of sensitive documents, helping to protect against identity theft and financial fraud. While the event is free, a $10 donation is suggested, with all proceeds benefiting the Juno Beach Civic Association. Click Poster for more information

Properly shredding your documents that contain personal information — such as account numbers, Social Security details, and financial statements — prevents criminals from accessing your private data. Stolen personal information can easily end up on the dark web, where it may be sold and misused. Ensuring the safety and security of the Town of Juno Beach and its residents is the core mission of the Juno Beach Police Foundation, and events like Shred Fest play a vital role in supporting that goal. By participating in Shred Fest, residents take an active step in safeguarding their identities and protecting themselves from fraud.

The Juno Beach Police Foundation, in partnership with the Juno Beach Civic Association, is proud to sponsor a valuable course designed to help residents navigate the ever-evolving world of technology safely. Security and Safety With Today's Technologies will be held at the Town Center on March 14th and will feature local technology expert Mark Szalkiewicz as the main presenter. Mr. Szalkiewicz, will provide practical insights into protecting yourself from online scams and digital threats. His FREE presentation will cover the devices we use daily, how browsers and search engines function, and real-world examples of cyber fraud. He will also offer actionable steps to help attendees safeguard their personal information.

The two-hour course is free of charge, and morning refreshments will be provided by the Police Foundation. With cyber threats becoming increasingly sophisticated, this is an excellent opportunity to learn how to stay one step ahead.
