All academic activity at Nigeria’s 90 public universities has stopped due to protest action by academic staff. The strike is now in its second week and there’s no end in sight. The stand-off between the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the government can be traced back to undertakings that haven’t been met, which in turn have led to a break down in trust. Oludayo Tade explains.
