2021 NWT Tourism Scholarships
Dear Members,
Northwest Territories Tourism is pleased to encourage the pursuit of excellence in the Tourism Industry in the Northwest Territories. This is our official call for applicants to our 2021 Tourism Scholarship Program.
This year, NWTT will be awarding three scholarships. One is the Rio Tinto Indigenous Student Scholarship, and will be awarded to qualified Indigenous students attending a post-secondary institution in an accredited Tourism and Hospitality program during the 2021/2022 academic year. NWT Tourism will also award two scholarships. One of the two NWTT scholarships will be prioritized for an Indigenous NWT resident student.
If you know of an NWT student pursuing post-secondary studies in tourism and hospitality, please forward them this message so that they are aware of our scholarship opportunities and can apply.
The deadline to apply is Friday, July 23, 2020 at 5:00 pm MT.
Details regarding what should be included in the application and where to submit the application are outlined in the application form, which you can download here.
We will be selecting the scholarship recipient in August and look forward to updating you on the outcome of this selection process.
We couldn't offer this scholarship program without the generosity of our members - some who have donated auction items at our annual conferences and others who have purchased those auction items. For this generosity - we thank you! While our organization and members work through the many changes and challenges of COVID-19, our annual scholarship program is one of the constants you can count on from NWT Tourism as we focus on the future of our industry, ensuring recovery and a path to resilience.
Regards,
Donna Lee Demarcke
