A Woolly Start to Autumn...

A Woolly Start to Autumn...

Welcome to this month's issue of the Cracking Ideas newsletter, bringing you exciting news from the world of innovation and new challenges to keep you busy this Autumn.

Did you know...

...that last week was British Wool week?

Here at Cracking Ideas as the weather gets colder we’ve decided to celebrate this amazingly versatile natural fibre by donning our favourite woolly pullovers, cardies and even the odd bobble hat or two!

Every October British Wool week aims to celebrate all that’s wonderful about wool. It’s a theme that Wallace and Gromit are already aware of after their woolly adventures and Shaun the Sheep led escapades in ‘A Close Shave’ where their innovative capability was tested to the max!

To see if you’ve got a knack for innovation or an aptitude for enterprise like Nick Park’s inventive duo why not visit www.crackingideas.com and discover all about intellectual property and how it can help protect your creativity.

A baa-rilliant trade mark!

A baa-rilliant trade mark!

The Woolmark logo is an easily recognized certification mark and a brilliant example of a trade mark. It was designed by Italian graphic artist Francesco Saroglia and was first used in the UK in 1964. Today it’s still associated with products made from 100% wool and can only be applied to goods reaching this standard whether its mattress fillings, a designer sweater or house insulation!

Fancy trying your hand at creating own fantastic trade mark?  Why not have a look at the current Cracking Ideas challenge where you’re tasked to come up with a quality name for a theme park which stands out from the crowd. Have look at www.crackingideas.com/competition/challenges

Then if you feel inspired why not have a go at the Cracking Ideas competition? You can download the entry form for FREE and you stand the chance of winning some fantastic prizes including a day out at Chessington World of Adventures.

You could even choose to base your theme park on a woolly topic! Let me see ... perhaps your innovative ride could be a rollercoaster based on a ball of yarn unravelling called ‘Get knotted’ or what about an enormous big wheel designed around the shape of a spinning wheel? Thread-tastic!

Whatever mad-cap creativity you come up with - have fun, be inventive and don’t let anyone pull the wool over your eyes (groan!)  Get cracking now!

Cracking regards.
