Neighbours urged to unite in fight against foxes
The Limestone Coast Landscape Board are urging local landholders to join forces with their neighbours and work together on a coordinated fox control program this season.

Limestone Coast Landscape Officers help landholders control foxes by providing information, advice and integrated control services. Landscape Officers can provide:
-
Advice on pest control such as best control methods, such as best practice methods and timing
-
Bait and equipment to assist with your fox control program
-
Publications and factsheets
If you need assistance with fox control, please contact your local Landscape Officer or call 08 8735 1177.

Poisoning of livestock a timely reminder to follow 1080 baiting 'Directions for Use' |
 |
Kym Haebich, Team Leader of the Limestone Coast Landscape Board, alongside a 1080 drum and label
|
|
All landholders are reminded to ensure 1080 bait is stored and disposed of correctly in accordance to the Direction following a recent incident near Bordertown.
The reminder follows the recent poisoning of 61 sheep by 1080 bait north of Bordertown. The poisoning is suspected to have occurred when the bait had not been disposed of correctly and left in a drum on the property. The sheep then knocked over the drum and consumed the bait.
Further information on Poison Baits in South Australia and Directions for Use can be found at www.pir.sa.gov.au.

2021 EcoVineyards Field Session - Coonawarra |
 |
|
|
Join viticulturist Dr Mary Retallack and a range of special guests to learn about the EcoVineyards project and how native insectary plants are being used by grape growers to benefit their vineyards.
The EcoVineyards concept incorporates native insectary plants to create biodiverse ecosystems in and around vineyards. These plants support populations of insect predators, insectivorous birds and microbats, which contribute towards biocontrol of vineyard pests and may ultimately lead to reduced input costs and the use of chemicals.
If you would like to attend this free event, please register via the Wine Grape Council of South Australia Eventbrite page.
For more information, contact Lisa Bennier, WGCSA Business Manager at lisa@wgcsa.com.au or 0419 039 508.
This project is supported by the:
