Degree Show Prizes

Degree Show Prizes

For the second year we've recognised students who have gone beyond the norm and used better materials or shown how art can communicate sustainability messages. These prizes encourage students to do more in their practice around sustainability and the environment, highlighting new areas of practice and career pathways.

The prize winners were Nicola Perrett for her use of sustainable materials (main newsletter picture), and Caroline Gooch (pictured above) for communicating sustainability. Both will receive a £200 cheque from SiAG. Congratulations!

Halls ReUse Scheme

This year we did more to re-use and recycle things that were left or donated by halls students. Charity bags and a clothes bin replaced black bin liners and skips, and we donated around 350kg of clothing, benefiting the local school and charities. We also collected various items to hand out free to students next Freshers Week. Thanks to everyone who donated.

Saving Energy and Water

Saving Energy & Water

In the Autumn we're Launching a major push to save energy and water across GSA. We'd like your ideas of how to promote resource saving, or you could design a poster for us. We're also on the lookout for brand new energy champions in every school and department. Contact us with ideas or to get more details.

We need you!

Ideally a mix of students from across disciplines to organise regular events/activities throughout the 13/14 session, to promote Sustainability at GSA. For more info get in touch.
