Seeing 2020... It's Looking Good!
Now that we’re past February ( and the buds are starting to break here on the south coast ) our sights are clearly fixed on Opening Day, which this year is Friday May 29th. March is when we transition from planning mode to execution! Time to fill trailers and load barges, to move the rig-up crew onsite and send up a proper cook! That doesn’t necessarily mean the winter weather is over but the odds are slightly more in our favour!
We just came off a very fruitful sales push, attending 4 sports shows and booking up quite a lot of the few remaining spaces for the 2020 season. There are still some spots on hold and a few trips with limited availability, but we’re well over 90% booked and interest has been strong this month. It’s gonna be a busy summer!
Travel arrangements have been confirmed for this summer with very minor changes for 2020. We’ll continue to use the combination of Air North’s Boeing 737 and the Air Canada Jazz Dash 8 to move our guests to Masset. Helijet will provide the comfortable S-76 helicopters for efficient transfer into the lodge at Naden Harbour. Our 2020 Travel Briefings are currently being sent out, beginning with the June trips and working our way thru to September. We're making good progress and should have everybody up to date this week.
The 2020 Kingfisher Derby is June 12-15... Get on it!
This year’s event, our 18th Annual, is our biggest yet, with the richest prize pool ever! It’s a highlight of the summer with over $100,000 up for grabs for anglers pursuing the largest Catch & Release salmon. Top prize for the largest salmon released will be minimum $50,000 and there are prizes for runners up as well as daily catch. It’s a party all weekend with special treatment from the food & beverage department as well! Tons of fun! At this time there are still a few spaces left so... if you enjoy a little competition in your fishin’ you should give us a call today!
More new boats are on the way!
Over at Bridgeview Marine in Prince Rupert the crew are putting the finishing touches on 5 more premium boats. For 2020 we’ll have 2 more vessels in the 80-Series (enclosed, walk-around, centre cabin - offering built-in head facility forward and featuring ample space for the guide and up to 4 anglers). We're very excited to introduce the first replacements for our QCL Classic Series boats - beautifully designed 20-foot versions of our very popular open console BV26-footers that make up the 90-Series. Stay tuned for more photos and updates!
We’re retiring some of our older boats and we’re thrilled to introduce these awesome new machines into our fleet. Make note... as our guests learn about these new boats we are getting a lot of requests so don’t wait too long to secure yours!
