China's fast-moving economy

Free SCENARIO article

We tend to focus only on emerging markets and China’s rapidly growing economy as an almost insurmountable threat to Western economies.

But do the Chinese perceive themselves as invincible. Or are they really feeling a big disappointment?

Janet Carmosky is an American who has lived and done business in China for a long time. In an article written for SCENARIO 05:2011 she presents another viewpoint regarding China’s fast-moving economy.

Relax and Reflect

Smartphone app teach you to relax

According to Thomas Geuken - affiliate at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies - the days with small boring breaks are long gone for some people, as we no longer just sit and wait, but rush to fill every break with content or activity.

But relax - there's and app for that...

Generation Y

In response to the growing focus on Generation Y,  the Institute has started a GenY Panel, consisting of the young themselves.

The GenY Panel will meet 6 times over the coming year, and will together with the Institute's members and customers debate the tenacious myths about GenY and about the generation’s expectations and demands to future worklife and career.

The seats on the GenY Panel, which has its first session September 29 at the Institute, are in heavy demand. However, we are still interested in hearing from creative, hard-working and ambitious youths, who are busy establishing their careers in their first jobs or their last years of study.

Trends in bits

There are smartphone apps for almost everything. A tendency is that mobile apps are incereasingly concerned with consumers emotional wellbeing - cf. Thomas Geukens explanation above - check out more of these feel-good apps:
