We are pleased to announce that the Special Issue of the Journal of Human Rights and the Environment (JHRE) is now available in print and online via Elgaronline.

This provocative collection of essays and conversations addresses the role of new materialist thinking in facing up to the challenges of the Anthropocene.A decisive move away from an imaginary of human mastery towards a more-than-human imaginary is now vital in the face of climate change, species extinctions and the urgency of finding ways to live 'otherwise'

This thoughtful and enriching collection is provocative, playful, insightful, prescient and challenging. It invites readers into imaginative and ecologically open ways of responding to planetary and social pressures, and entering into fresh engagements with a seriously entangled world. With outstanding contributions from Professors Jane Bennett and William Connolly, among others, this collection is a wonderful call into non-anthropocentric ways of being, seeing and doing at a crucial historical juncture.

We hope you enjoy this edition.

Anna Grear, Jana Norman and Natalia Kobylarz
