Welcome to the October Alumni Newsletter

This month, we've offically opened the new £5.7million learning centre extension, and have secured government funding of £300,000 to develop 14 new degree apprenticeships.

We are also proud to share that Leeds Trinity has been ranked as the sixth best university in the country for teaching quality, according to The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.

All Saints Day 2017

On Wednesday 1 November you are warmly invited to join us to celebrate All Saints Day 2017, 12.30 - 2.30pm.

The day includes a Mass in the University’s Chapel presided over by the Bishop of Leeds, Bishop Marcus Stock, The Great Trinity Cake Off, our Faces of Leeds Trinity photography project, and a showcase of recent University success.

A light lunch and refreshments will be served from 1.30pm. You can book your free place on Eventbrite or contact our Events Team for further information.

Inspiring Futures Fund opens to students

The Inspiring Futures Programme - a new fund to support students and recent graduates to fulfil their potential in business, elite sport and international study - has officially opened for applications this week.

Bursaries from £500 up to £1,500 are being offered to recent graduates who have been running a business or freelancing for the last 12 months, current or prospective students who compete at a national or international level of sport, and current students who want to complete a semester abroad. Find out more.

Free workshops for growing businesses

If you, or someone you know, has a business up to three years old with a desire to grow and develop, we still have some places left on our AD:VENTURE workshop later this month.

Join us at Leeds Trinity University for our Entrepreneurial Knowledge Exchange Group on Wednesday 18 October, 5.30 - 8.00pm, to discuss business problems, unpick issues and arrive at 'action points' through insightful questioning, encouraging reflection, challenging their assumptions and offering feedback in a supportive environment.

Meet the new Corporate Communications team!

In the last month, we've welcomed new members to the Alumni team - forming a larger Corporate Communications team, who will all be supporting alumni activity. The new team (L-R) is Christopher Hulme (Events Assistant), Liz Champion (Communications Officer), Hayley Cook (Corporate Communications Manager) and Brett Arnall (Alumni Officer).

Your feedback really matters to us and we want to give you the best possible alumni experience. To ensure we are serving you as best as possible, we'll shortly be circulating a questionnaire which will help us ascertain the best ways of communicating with you and what events you'd most like to see.

Save the Date for Christmas Carol Service

Our annual Christmas Carol Service takes place this year on Tuesday 5 December, 7.00pm in the Chapel.

Featured Alumni - Christine Wilson

Christine Wilson (pictured, right) graduated in July this year, during the same week as her daughter Helen.

Her journey with us began after bringing Helen to an Open Day in 2012 - and she liked it so much she also enrolled the following year!

Since graduating, Christine has set up her own business, CW Media Productions, and is coming back soon to embark on a Masters by Research with us.

You can read Christine's inspirational story on our blog.
