Palm Beach County Blue Mass - September 29th

Poster Join members of the Juno Beach Police Department and the Police Foundation for the annual Palm Beach County Blue Mass, a solemn occasion of gratitude and remembrance for members of all faiths, to be held at 8:30 AM on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the St. Ignatius Loyola Cathedral located at 9999 N. Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens. Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito will lead the mass as the main celebrant.

Set on the feast of the archangels, Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel - recognized as God's protector, healer, and messenger respectively - this event holds special significance for law enforcement officers and military personnel, who find patronage in these divine figures.

Welcoming attendees of all faiths, the Blue Mass pays tribute to those who have fallen while serving, retired from law enforcement, and those currently safeguarding Palm Beach County. A true opportunity for the community to express its gratitude, the Mass will be followed by a gathering where attendees can enjoy refreshments in the cathedral's Family Life Center.

Juno Beach Police Foundation to Host and Sponsor
2023 Juno Beach Veterans Day Celebration

Poster We are thrilled to announce that the Juno Beach Police Foundation has taken on the role this year of organizing and managing the upcoming 2023 Juno Beach Veterans Day celebration. Not only that, but the Foundation has also generously stepped forward to fund this significant occasion. As details continue to unfold, we invite everyone to mark their calendars for the morning of November 10th at 11:00 AM, as we gather at the Town Center to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

This year's Veterans Day celebration promises to be a remarkable and heartwarming occasion, made possible by the dedication and efforts of the Juno Beach Police Foundation. With our commitment to serving the community and honoring our heroes, we anticipate an event that truly captures the spirit of gratitude and respect we hold for our veterans.

One of the highlights of this year's event will be the unveiling of the new Veterans memorial monument. This monument stands as a testament to the sacrifices and courage of all those who have served our country. Its presence will serve as a powerful reminder of the debt of gratitude we owe to our veterans and their families.

As we look forward to this meaningful event, please remember to reserve the morning of November 10th at 11:00 AM. The Juno Beach Police Foundation, along with the entire community, eagerly anticipates coming together for a celebration to honor, remember, and show our deep appreciation for the service of our veterans.

PLEASE NOTE

The Board of Directors of the Police Foundation would like to clarify some misinformation published in a recent issue of the "Eyes on Juno" newsletter regarding the upcoming Veterans Day celebration and monument unveiling. We believe it's important to provide accurate details and ensure a clear understanding for all our readers.

The referenced newsletter stated that "There will be a memorable celebration this year. Amongst others, DD Halpern cooperating with Michael Shea will head the planning which also includes the support of the Juno Beach Police Foundation."

To be clear, during the August Town Council meeting, Councilwoman Cotronakis put forward a motion to have the Police Foundation organize the Veterans Day event with staff oversight and for the staff to forward to the Police Foundation the names of any residents interested in participating with the Foundation along with the residents' input. This was after a presentation by Foundation President Tom Murphy wherein the Foundation offered to organize and run the event and to provide the financial funding. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Hosta and was unanimously approved.

It's important to emphasize that the planning of the event does not involve Ms. DD Halpern or Michael Shea in any leadership roles. Instead, Mr. Shea will serve as a member of the Police Foundation's Veterans' Day Committee along with other local veterans such as Tony Meriano, Jim Lyons, Cy Seymour, Marvin Findling, Ron Hoadling, a representative from The Waterford, and Foundation President Tom Murphy as Chairman. It will be Veterans, organizing Veterans Day, to honor Veterans.

The Juno Beach Police Foundation generously offered to manage and financially support the Veterans Day event, aligning with our ongoing commitment to Juno Beach and as part of our Community Outreach mission. We are excited to fund this special occasion and ensure its success.

Thank you, our incredible donors, for your understanding and unwavering commitment. With your generous contributions, the Police Foundation has provided over $300 thousand in aid to the Juno Beach Police Department. This backing has facilitated essential equipment, comprehensive training, new technology and the sponsorship of events, all of which play a crucial role in enhancing the safety and security of our beloved town. It is therefore of utmost importance to us that information about our efforts remains clear and accurate, reflecting the genuine impact of your support.

We look forward to celebrating Veterans Day together with you in a manner that truly honors those who have served.
