Well, it's that time of year again - Refugee Week is almost here and we would love for you to join us in celebrating all the remarkable contributions that refugees make to Australian society.

STARTTS will host the NSW Launch of Refugee Week, once again together with the Refugee Council of Australia and SSI. This year we have moved the event out to Western Sydney to better reach our refugee supporters, and we will be having the same great range of entertainment and activities for you to enjoy.

'Difficult things happen': Why are governments still justifying torture?

Despite the condemnation against it, governments around the world are still using, and justifying the use of, torture. 

To mark International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, STARTTS and Amnesty International are bringing together a group of excellent panellists to discuss torture around the world today. MC Richard Ackland will be joined by academic Dr Kiran Grewal and PIAC CEO Ed Santow, with more panellists to be announced soon.
