November Theme: Recognizing Thankfulness
Happy Cooler Weather, Everyone!
I love when we hit November -- the kids have settled into their school routines, schedules are set (not that they're not crazy!), and we get to share a gorgeous feast at the end of the month with friends and family. Isn't it wonderful we have a holiday dedicated to acknowledging the gifts we have and sharing them with others?
This month we focus on recognizing thankfulness with our students by opening their eyes to the special people in their lives and the gifts and talents each of them have. We want to "switch on" the emotional connectivity necessary to feel appreciation by having them stop, think, and take note. It's amazing what a little focus can do to bring out the "ah-ha" moments with our kids!
The end of the year is a busy one too. We enjoyed another terrific turnout at the Locomotion tween/teen dance this past Saturday, spring 2012 class registration is OPEN, and our teens are helping others by volunteering at the Houston Food Bank. In December, join us as a family for our theatre night!
So as we descend on the holidays, remember to take time to stop and smell the wonderful aroma of friends, family and special people in our lives.
We are thankful for you and your families!
Wendy
