EOS reached more than 20,000 Nicaraguans in 2011!
One tangible metric for the EOS International team is the number of people benefitting from our life-improving technologies. As our team continues to grow and become more efficient, our impact steadily increases. Last July, EOS began a three-year Rural Water Chlorination Program with Compatible Technology International (CTI) and started promoting their CTI-8 water chlorinator. This technology purifies the water source for an entire community, creating a significant health improvement for hundreds of people.
With the addition of the CTI-8 water chlorination system, EOS is now providing clean water to communities of up to 1,000 people with a single low-cost, low-maintenance technology!
Last year alone, EOS International brought life-improving technologies to more than 20,000 rural Nicaraguans by installing 19 water chlorination systems and over 150 of our other products. Along with purifying water, EOS brought light to families through solar panels, reduced or eliminated smoke in kitchens by generating renewable cooking gas, and increased crop yields with irrigation systems.
We plan to reach another 40,000 Nicaraguans this year and we'll need your help. Contact Greg McGrath and check out next month's newsletter for more information on how you can make a difference.

February 2012 – Our most productive month ever!
Rural Nicaragua is full of scenic volcanoes, beautiful hillsides, and…terrible roads – especially during the 6-month rainy season. The truth is, transportation in rural Nicaragua is a challenge. Until recently, EOS has had to make do with motorcycles, rented vehicles, and public transportation to haul materials.
To increase our efficiency, we recently bought a truck. After purchasing a ’98 Toyota Hilux last month (pictured above), our team had its most product month ever, installing over 25 technologies that are directly impacting 574 families!
These included 9 biodigesters, 8 household solar lighting systems, and 4 CTI-8 water chlorinators, among others. Your contributions made this happen and we look forward to continued productivity increases as a result.

EOS Annual Meeting in Chicago
Over the last 3.5 years, members of the EOS International Board of Directors have served from Nicaragua, Africa, and all corners of the United States. Technology has helped us to overcome geographic barriers in order to conduct meetings, but we all know the value of getting even a few members to sit down in the same room.
This year, the Board decided to begin meeting in person at least once per year to improve its effectiveness. As a result, the entire Board gathered for the first time at the EOS Annual Meeting in Chicago last month. The meeting was so successful that the Board is already planning a mid-year meeting!
