Excellence in Food Tourism

High quality South Australian food tourism experiences will now be recognised as part of the 2012 South Australian Tourism Awards with the introduction of a new category – Excellence in South Australian Food Tourism.

The aim of this new category is to recognise and reward food producers, providores, food tour operators, cooking schools, food attractions, markets, trails and other food businesses in South Australia that offer a visitor experience and feature our magnificent produce as the core component of that experience.

The South Australian Tourism Awards are open to all South Australian tourism businesses and suppliers across 29 categories. The Tourism Awards are an annual online submission and site visit based competition. Nominations close on Friday 6, July with submissions due Monday, 20 August.

e-Tourism Convention Wrap-Up

Did you miss last week's 2012 SA e-Tourism Convention: The revolution of tourism information, distribution and sales?

Delegates had the opportunity to learn all aspects of being "online" including sales & marketing, distribution, e-commerce, social media, financial management, inventory control as well as managing your business' image and reputation.

Encouragingly, 100% of delegates said they would recommend attending SATIC's tourism conference to others.

Due to popular demand, we have now posted most of the day's presentations on our website for access by our members.

Stor-E-telling Workshop

So…what’s it to be with your business…chilli or vanilla?

That was the question Grant Cameron and Jodie van Deventer put to delegates at our recent e-Tourism Convention with their session on story telling and how to be noticed in a bland and noisy marketplace.

They’ve been overwhelmed by the interest their talk has generated, so we’ve asked them to put together a workshop just for tourism operators.

Numbers are strictly limited to just six people so that Grant and Jodie have plenty of time to work with participants on an individual level as well taking everyone through the art of building a great story.

Your story is your point of difference, so if you want to discover how to tell it the right way to the right people, this workshop is a must.

When: Monday, 18 June, 9.30am - 12.30pm

Where: SATIC Boardroom, Level 1, 41 Currie Street, Adelaide

Investment: SATIC Members $300, Non-SATIC Members $400
