Introducing our newest members to the Pennyroyal Farm Family......

Happy Crystal and Sparkles....

Our gorgeous little girls were born on the 5th of October sometime in the late afternoon.  Happy Crystal is doing superbly, and has been from the start! Little Brown Face aka "Sparkles" has needed a little bit of help.  She has definitely won our hearts. Without the great advice and support from our gorgeous neighbours, some hard work and determination, little Sparkles would not be here today.  The girls are currently at a neighbouring nursery and will return to Pennyroyal Farm when they are old enough to fend for themselves.....

Out and About...

Lake Elizabeth

Tucked away in the Otways not far from Forrest, Lake Elizabeth is a beautiful mountain lake. There is a free camping ground and walking trails. The Trail (#2 track on the Forrest MTB trail network), is a shared path, and allows cyclists to ride from Forrest all the way to Lake Elizabeth.

Created more than 50 years ago but record rainfall that sent thousands of tonnes of rock and earth into the East Barwon River, creating a dam that went on to form the lake. This lake is now the home and habitat for wild Platypus, and other wildlife.

Lake Walk - A 2 kilometre loops allows walkers to take in the magestic beauty that is Lake Elizabeth. The walk follows the edge of the lake, and is best suited to those of a moderate walking ability. With a backdrop of Giant Ferns the walk passes by a billabong and is sign posted along the way with information.

Platypus Tours - Forrest local Bruce Jackson conducts regular Platypus canoe tours. More information can be found at www.platypustours.net.au

Camping - Lake Elizabeth allows for free camping, with limited bush facilities including compost toilets. This camp ground is very popular and works on a first come best dressed system.

How to get there - From the Forrest township, follow the signs to Lake Elizabeth, which takes you via Kaanglang Road. The Lake Elizabeth turn off is approximately 6km's from the town, and follow the dirt road down to the carpark. Cyclists can follow track #2 all the way to the Lake from Forrest

Ride to Lake Elizabeth - There is an easy trail that leads from Forrest out to the lake. Mountain Bike Hire is available if you need a bike.
