The Covid-19 pandemic certainly presented our team with many challenges but we were able to quickly adapt. We rapidly adopted virtual visits as a primary means of care delivery during the early stages of COVID. Dr. Andy Nelson was instrumental in developing workflows, templates and training for our providers to ensure we were able to continue to provide seamless care to our patients during the pandemic. While we are now transitioning back to primarily in person visits, we have continued to offer the virtual option to patients, which has been very well received and frequently utilized.
Changes continue at SpineCare as we partner with Pain Management, Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery under the umbrella of the Comprehensive Pain and SpineCare Center to provide multifaceted care to our patients.
- Congratulations to Dr. Tom Kotsonis for being selected as the recipient the 2021 PM&R Robert T. Boyle Teacher of the Year Award.
- Congratulations to Akash Jindal, Drs. Donohue and White for their accepted case report on "Cervical Myelopathy and Peripheral Polyneuropathy in a 26-Year-Old Female Following Bariatric Surgery" in Cureus.
Congratulations to Dr. Heather Curtiss for assuming the role of undergraduate medical education director and to Dr. Jen Yacub Martin for assuming a new role of associate director of undergraduate medical education.
Kudos to Dr. Carley Sauter for been recently selected to serve as co-course director for the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) course at MCW. CPD provides longitudinal advising to students regarding schedule and career planning. CPD also designs and oversees OSCEs for M3 and M4 students, directs transitional courses as students move from M3 to M4 year and into residency, and oversees the Mock Interview program.

Congratulations Drs. Nick Ketchum and Erin McGonigle on their nuptials on a beautiful sunny day in mid-June. It was a lovely wedding.
Welcome to Michaelchad Bonnell, MSL, BSHA, RT, CCM as our new Neurophysiology, Rehab Medicine Clinic and MEG Manager at Froedtert Hospital. Michaelchad has a BS in Respiratory Therapy, a BS in Healthcare Administration, an MS in Organizational Leadership and he is currently enrolled in an MS Healthcare Administration program. Michael spent his early career in the Chicago area, then moved to California and Arizona for several years. Michaelchad is pleased to be back home.
