PreK4 eNews

Wow!  We can hardly believe that it is November!  Next week, we will begin our unit on the First Thanksgiving.  We love teaching the children how God was intricately involved in this part of our history.  We also want to focus on being thankful for our many blessings.  Each teacher is so thankful for the children we teach and for the parents!  Thank you for sending your child to Shiloh and allowing us to share part of our days with your child!

For our November mission project, each class at Shiloh will fill a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child.  The organization, Samaritan’s Purse, collects and distributes shoeboxes to needy children throughout the world.  As the shoeboxes filled with goodies are given to children in over 100 countries, the good news of Jesus Christ is shared with these children and families.  Your child’s teacher will provide more information regarding how we need your help. All items for the shoeboxes need to be sent before Wednesday, November 15.  Thank you for partnering with us to teach the children to be generous and to help share the gospel with many.

Next Week

  • Bible Verse: “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.” Psalm 118:1 (We will practice this verse for two weeks. Practice at home too!)
  • Bible Story:  The First Thanksgiving (Although this story is not from God’s word, we will learn how this event from our history was part of God’s plan)
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the letter “Jj” and the sound that /j/ makes (think jam and jar).
