South Australia Mining and Energy Jobs Report Vacancy Analysis: April 17In April 193 mining jobs were advertised for roles in South Australia. This represents a promising start to Q4 2016/17 with a continuation of growth in the industry demonstrated throughout this financial year. In April, the proportion of entry level opportunities increased to 8% of the total available jobs for the sector. Supervisor/Manager opportunities almost doubled compaired to the March Supervisor/Manager vacancies. Read our report to find out more

Arrium wins street contract for Adani railwayAdani has announced a $74 million deal to buy railway steel from Arrium. Arrium will be contracted to supply 54,000 tonnes of steel for the 400-kilometre railway line. KGL resources expands Central Australian copper projectKGL resources has acquired the Unca Creek tenement, which adjoins to their current Jervois project. The tenement takeover comes months after the Jervois Copper Project received

Historic mining sites added to National Heritage ListSouth Australian Cornish mining sites Burra and Moonta will become the 109th and 110th places to be added to the National Heritage List. The recognition, announced on May 8, means advocates from Australia and England can now push for the sites to be put on the world list by the United Nation’s heritage organisation. View news article
Lincoln Minerals announce improved graphite statusLincoln Minerals has increased the confidence level of the Mineral Resource inventory at its Kookaburra Gully Graphite Project to a combined Measured, Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource of 2.03 million tonnes at 15.2% total graphitic carbon. Renascor Resources receives funding for Arno projectRenascor Resources has been awarded a $100,000 research grant to conduct mineral processing test work at its Siviour graphite deposit in the Eyre Peninsula. Copper to the World conference - 27 June 2017To be held in Adelaide on 27 June 2017 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Copper to the World will deliver a global perspective on the future of copper with insights to innovate and engage across the copper value chain and share progress aimed at discovering new economic ore bodies. Copper to the World
has secured speakers from Chile, the UK and Australia including the Chilean Productivity Commission and the Chilean Copper Commission, CRU and the CSIRO. The dynamic program will address topics ranging from international partnerships, copper demand and supply forecasts, and innovation and opportunities for the METS (mining equipment, technology and services) sector. The conference is an initiative of South Australia’s Copper Strategy, launched in 2016, which sets an ambitious target to triple the state’s copper production to 1 million tonnes a year within the next two decades.
