Historically, emergency medical intervention has led our relief efforts in international disaster events of great magnitude. We are fortunate in Hope Force International (HFI) to have a number of highly qualified healthcare providers in our volunteer ranks. When a crisis occurs, we send out an SOS and have been able to then mount an effective response.
For some of our responders, it might be their first opportunity to practice medicine in what is typically a developing nation — often under extremely difficult circumstances. Although quite stressful, these professionals rise to the occasion and serve with remarkable compassion.
